Cupw Collective Agreement Rsmc

CUPW`s last collective agreement was signed in 2012 and expired on January 31, 2016. The RSMC collective agreement expired in December 2015. In addition, the two new collective agreements (urban and RSMC) have a duration of four years, which means that they are in force until 31 December 2021 (RSMC) and 31 January 2022 (Urban). Decisions about our work and our future should not even have been referred to an arbitrator. Workers have the right to free and fair collective bargaining and, if our right is denied, it deprives us of our ability to negotiate solutions to the problems we face in the workplace. In 2003, CUPW successfully concluded the trade union organization of about 6,000 rural and suburural postal workers (RSMC) and won a first collective agreement for these employees. This collective agreement is separate from cupw`s collective agreement. The two collective agreements have major differences. These differences are due to the fact that RSMCs were previously contractors, unlike Employees of Canada Post. For example, RSMCs are paid hourly in a contract style, RSMCs are generally expected to find their own replacement during absences, and RSMCs may hire assistants who are not employed by Canada Post. Also in 2003, the urban postal unit experienced the first of many backward steps, when the contract concluded provided for the abolition of severance pay. Members ratified the Urban Mail Operations agreement by 65.4% of the vote.

[8] [9] A collective agreement makes a significant contribution to protecting workers from unfair treatment. This gives us a say in the workplace, allows us to improve our working conditions and provides us with a fair way to address and resolve problems in the workplace. As the union failed to reach a new agreement, it began a series of rotating strikes across the country on 22 October 2018. [11] CUPW received arbitrator Elizabeth MacPherson`s decision regarding the collective agreements of our two bargaining units at Canada Post: Urban Operations and Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers. The latest agreement between the Corporation of Canada Post and the Canadian Postal Workers Union, Urban Postal Operations, expired on January 31, 2018. A collective agreement is a written legal contract that includes workers grouped into a single bargaining unit. The contract will be concluded through collective bargaining between the union and the employer. This course provides an overview of the RSMC collective agreement. Participants review the entire RSMC collective agreement. A more in-depth examination of restructuring and remuneration is included. • reinstatement of the two collective agreements with CUPW, including all workers` benefits, for the duration of the cooling-off period; Collective agreements generally include wages and social benefits. .
